Ann:
I loved the cultural 'day out'. For one thing it was special to get out of the city into the natural environment of the farm. We picked our own vegetables and fruit and enjoyed the weather - clear skies, warm sunshine, clean air. It was perfect. We had lunch at a wonderful restaurant which took us back to the 1900s and the day continued with a visit to an exhibition about the battle against Covid 19, finishing up with a screening of a beautiful documentary film about the famous poet Professor Yeh Chia Ying. Altogether a special day I won't forget.
外教Mafoya:
It was EXCELLENT. I really enjoy this experience and am ready to do it again if given the opportunity.
外教Shakeel:
First of all, I would like to thank the Nankai University International Office for organizing a cultural activity for International staff. It was an adequately managed whole-day activity where we enjoyed and learned something about Chinese customs.
We visited the Tianjin museum for the theme exhibition, namely “People’s Warfare against the Epidemic,” to pay tribute to health professionals and learn about Chinese people’s efforts for COVID-19 prevention. The exhibition explained how the Chinese and Tianjin people overcome this challenging situation with determined and disciplined manners. It also displayed how Tianjin health professionals and nursing staff helped, contributed, and provided assistance in most affected epicenter areas in China.
For Chinese culture understanding, International Office also arranged a movie relevant to Chinese classical and modern poetry. That movie/documentary was based on a famous Chinese poet Prof. Yeh’s life experiences and her contribution to Chinese poetry. The movie also included several poetic scripts of Prof. Yeh and briefly discussed various Chinese poets and thinkers' viewpoint. As a scientific researcher, for me, it was the first-ever experience of learning about Chinese poetry.
In the end, once again, I will pay my gratitude to Nankai University International Office teachers for their efforts for such a refined cultural activity.
